AT THE MONT-DE-MARSAN PRISON CENTER

The Mont-de-Marsan prison center during this time of confinement. 

Here are some thoughts from detained persons sent to prison as chaplains during this time of confinement...

• We thank you, the Chaplains for the attentions you sent us. We were very pleased to see that you are thinking of us. We will miss you and our loved ones very much. We can't wait to find you.
• I am constantly amazed at the time you offer us, your attention to our well-being.
• Your mail, I shared it with everyone.
• With this confinement, the school activities were all canceled. I went back to sport, but, given my age, that's not why I'm going to develop my bodybuilding...
• There is no longer a visiting room.
• The prison gave us 40 € to be able to phone. But, suddenly, everyone is fighting to phone.
• I had my friends from Mali and Cote d´Ivoire. They are confined and are very worried because they do not have precise information on the extent of the virus at home.
• I am sad for those who face this virus.
• The Supervisors are also worried and tensed. Some are more understandable.
• Here we meet often to share our faith, meal and prayers.
• With my fellow inmate we organized a ‘mass’ on April 12. We prayed together, shared small things.
• Thank you for sending me "Prions en Eglise"; It allowed me to follow Easter week. I have prayed a lot for my children who give me a lot of worries.
• A week ago, Pope Francis asked all believers to recite the "Our Father". That’s what we did at noon.
• By finding myself now alone in the cell, I have the freedom to watch mass broadcasts on TV on Sunday morning.
