VIA: COURAGE TO CROSS THE BRIDGE

Valentina, new VIA volunteer in Peru... 

On July 12, the International Volunteering in Alliance (VIA) team gathered to support and celebrate Valentina's "yes" to take the plunge and start volunteering in Peru.

Special people are those who understand that love makes the difference in life, and Valentina is one of those special people. 

Some time ago she began to walk this path with a lot of courage, writing to VIA with the challenge of volunteering. Thus began a period of different training meetings where she showed her talents. She met volunteers from other years, through the testimonies of their services in different parts of the world, and also had the opportunity to make contact with Sister Beatriz (RPA) and the Prosalmag team, all of which was very necessary to make the final decision and dare to cross the bridge. 

To cross a bridge requires a leap of faith, a challenge to abandon the known for the unknown, a bridge that calls you to believe and to grow.

Valentina as a bridge, a bridge to others with the ability to unite and be faithful to the two shores. In the construction of this symbolic bridge from Argentina to Peru, there are many important people who contributed in different ways. 

In the celebration, some of them expressed in a word those gifts of Valentina that will be light in this bridge. 

The VIA project tries to be that foundation that sustains the spirit that drove our founders, and that throughout history sisters and lay people have managed to transmit and keep alive. And it is in this space, where we want the volunteer to be able to live his gifts of compassion, availability and service, doing good to those who need it most. 

At the end of the celebration, we gave Valentina the T-shirt and the cross, symbols of belonging to the project; and we signed the mutual agreement. 

We concluded this moment of celebration, praying a Hail Mary offering to the Virgin Woman of infinite faith and courage Valentina's journey and mission.
