THE SEASON OF ADVENT, THE BREATH OF THE SPIRIT...

29/11/2024 | Agenda - News

"As drops of water penetrate the earth, the word of God reaches our hearts."

4th Sunday in Advent : PEACE

The 4th Advent candle, often called the angel candle, represents the messengers who announced the birth of the Messiah, and symbolizes the teaching of the prophets announcing a reign of peace and justice. It reminds us that Jesus comes to bring peace to the world and to people's hearts. Without Christ, there can be no peace in this world. Isaiah prophetically predicted: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. Dominion will rest on his shoulder; he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

The world can be filled with turmoil; peace is often a distant dream. When we trust Christ's promises, we know that peace will always be in our hearts...

3rd Sunday in Advent: JOY

Every day, my heart is renewed... and even more, if I help renew other hearts !!!!

Salomé Arrecibita sings: "Already, the young woman feels the life that opens up and grows with her, welcoming this gift. She shares her joy with all those around her, praying day after day: 'I know WHO I place my TRUST in'."

As Christmas approaches, Mary has presented herself to us as the Immaculate Conception. She has given herself to us in the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, with a ribbon around her waist, a symbol of her fertility. The PROMISE grows within her. A blessed promise that God has announced to us since the dawn of time through the prophets. It places us in a state of listening and attentive watching. How will we recognize it?

And in the mystery of time, the question awaits answers: "Prepare the way of the Lord." It is to John the Baptist that people ask what they must do to "prepare." The prophet of the desert responds with exquisite simplicity: "Let anyone who has two tunics share with the one who has none; and let anyone who has food do the same".

"The days will come when I will fulfill my promise". And this is that promise: "A new heart, big enough to love. New men and women, creators of History, builders of a new humanity. Men and women standing by the poor, sharing shelter and bread with them".

On this third Sunday of Advent, we are invited to reflect: "Let us lift our heads: let us take courage. Let us not be crushed by the problems that surround us. Let us keep seeking the key that opens life, that frees joy, that unleashes peace and justice".

Let us pray day after day with Mary: "I know WHO I place my TRUST in". Amen.

2nd Sunday in Advent: FAITH

And the Feast of Mary, Immaculate Conception, fills us with joy. "And the earth burst forth with gladness".

Since the beginning of time the breath of the Holy Spirit made us his own. "We are your daughters" we used to say and we will continue to be so because we make Mary's Life our own. Mother of Consolation. Virgin of Peace. Woman of the Word. Mary is Sacred Ground.

In our World, wherever we are living, she is the vivid depiction of the first rebellion against Love: Cain and Abel. How to repair the sin against the Spirit? This is our challenge and our task in synodality.

And together, marked by the identity of the Servants of Mary, we strive to remain vigilant, attentive, searching for what is true without distorting the truth. Without being confused. Like Moses in the great battle, who asked that his arms be supported.

In every struggle and in every victory continue, as our prayer says, "crushing the head of the infernal serpent" with its sometimes so subtle and seductive faces that confuse us.

Mary, Mother and Teacher, we walk with you in the midst of light and shadow. You are our beacon and guide.

1st Sunday in Advent: HOPE

Every day is a new dawn, because God surprises us by whispering a word to our hearts, a magnificent inspiration to continue "crossing the shores", especially in this season: Advent

And we find ourselves contemplating Mary.

A young girl from a small village has been chosen to be all things to God. She's so surprised, but she doesn't hesitate to say YES. And heaven opens and joy is on earth.

Mary carries the Promise within her. Mother, faithful woman. In silence: listening. In decision: grace. On the way: reward. In commitment: Servant.

Servants of Mary since we saw the light at our birth, continuing to be born with others, to fraternize, to accompany, to listen. And to defend the joy of our unique YES to be women of today.

We are few, poor and small, but we can. Today is the day. Every day.

Mary, Mother and Mistress, we accompany you in this waiting that fills our souls with light.

We are your daughters. We are your daughters. Amen.
